World Book Day 2023 - Potato Characters (2024)

22nd Feb 2023

On Thursday 2nd March we will be celebrating World Book Day in school. As part of our celebrations, instead of dressing up, we would like all of you to create a character from a favourite book using a potato as your base. You can use anything you wish to decorate your potato, the more inventive the better! You could use paint, fabric, lollipop sticks, etc. We can't wait to see what ideas you come up with. When you bring your potato character in, we will be creating a display in each classroom to see the range of characters we have created! Have a look at the pictures below for some ideas.

Next Wednesday, your child will also be coming home with a £1 World Book Day token. They will be able to spend this in any book store or at the Book Fair which will be arriving in school next Thursday. Keep an eye on the website for your child's class Book Fair time.
