Growing up, your birthday was likely your favorite day of the year. But your friends’ birthdays could have been in your top ten as well. Because even though you weren’t the center of attention, you got to celebrate your besties with a party, eat delicious cake and, if you were lucky, go home with a fabulous party favor.
It’s pretty easy to keep kiddos satisfied during a party, but according to one mom, it’s also surprisingly easy to derail the entire event. Below, you’ll find a story that this mom shared on Reddit, detailing how a Build-a-Bear birthday took an unexpected turn, as well as a conversation with Amy Morrison, founder of Pregnant Chicken.

But when it was revealed that the kids would not get to keep their creations, the partygoers were not happy

Later, the mom provided an update after speaking to the birthday girl’s mother

Howdy, I'm Adelaide! I'm originally from Texas, but after graduating from university with an acting degree, I relocated to sunny Los Angeles for a while. I then got a serious bite from the travel bug and found myself moving to Sweden and England before settling in Lithuania about two years ago. I'm passionate about animal welfare, sustainability and eating delicious food. But as you can see, I cover a wide range of topics including drama, internet trends and hilarious memes. I can easily be won over with a Seinfeld reference, vegan pastry or glass of fresh cold brew. And during my free time, I can usually be seen strolling through a park, playing tennis or baking something tasty.

I don’t know but if this happened to a party my kid went to I’d have zero issue telling the mom no and immediately leaving with the bear 🤷🏻♀️. I’m not going to avoid confrontation just so things aren’t awkward…especially if it results in my kid crying

I’d like to think the same - but sometimes you’re just stupefied by how bizarre someone else’s behaviour is.

As the poster at the top said. she just guaranteed those kids won't come to another party for that child. And if it continues, you're 100% right, no friends. And can you imagine what kind of person she will grow up to be? Talk about raising a snowflake.

how? I don't understand like how could your heart not break while telling the rest of the kids to give up their bears for your child. Its crazy to me how people seem to think these days

She probably thinks her child *deserves* all the toys. One of those parents who think nothing of ripping a phone or tablet out of someone's hands because "little Khayeleigh wants to use it."
