Warning: These are totally addictive!
***Subs & notes:
Icing Sugar is also known as powdered or confectioners
sugar.
Double cream can be substituted for heavy cream or heavy whipping cream. Single cream will also work.
You might think this is a heck of a lot of icing (powdered/confectioners) sugar, but you WILL need it.

*************

These are really simple to make.
If you can hold a spoon, you can make these babies. xD

They also make nice gifts to give around the holidays if you decorate them and wrap them in cellophane, or put them in a pretty box.

As you can make these without adding egg, they're suitable for younger children and the elderly. :)

Thanks to Google for the images. I wanted to take my own, but my camera is missing. :(

You Will Need

250 gIcing Sugar3 tbspDouble CreamMelted Chocolate(OPTIONAL)Peppermint EssenceEgg White(OPTIONAL)Greaseproof /WaxPaper

  • Easy Peppermint Creams (No Egg Needed!) (11)

    Step 1

Combine the icing sugar, egg white (if using), and double cream in a large bowl.
Add a few drops of peppermint essence to taste.

  • Easy Peppermint Creams (No Egg Needed!) (12)

    Step 2

Stir everything together, until it begins to form a very stiff paste ball.

If it looks too sticky, you can add more icing sugar.

You need to get it to form a consistency where you can roll it out or shape it with your hands, so adding more icing sugar is fine.

If the mix doesn't seem to be forming a ball, you can add a tiny bit of water or a little more cream.

  • Easy Peppermint Creams (No Egg Needed!) (13)

    Step 3

Roll out into a long tube and cut into discs.

You can also just roll it into a ball and pinch off bits and flatten out. I do this. :)

Place on a baking sheet covered in wax/greaseproof paper.

  • Easy Peppermint Creams (No Egg Needed!) (14)

    Step 4

Place them in the refridgerator for a few hours or over-night.

If you want to be fancy, you can dip these in melted chocolate and then put them back into the fridge until it hardens.

  • Step 5

    Enjoy! :)
    Feel free to ask questions.

Let me know how this works for you.

    **Variations**

You can also add a few drops of food colouring to make them look prettier.

If you don't like mint, you can add different flavours such as vanilla essence or rosewater to make Turkish Delight cremes.

what is the difference if you add egg or not, do they come out different?

just made 3 batches, now chilling in the fridge and tomorrow will dip them in dark chocolate. I made raspberry and coloured it pink, mint and coloured it green and orange and yep you guessed it!! Was in the middle of making rose flavoured and coloured a lilac shade but ran out of icing sugar!!

I guess you could also separate the mixture into different bowls in order to make them different flavours, smaller quantities of different tastes. And colours

I would advise just stirring both together, since whipping will probably not produce the consistency you want.

so you whip the icing sugar and the double cream together to a firm consistency?

This is great--thanks for reminding me of thse! My mom used to make these, but by coloring the paste pink and green, rolling it into small balls, coating them in granulated sugar, and then pressing them into candy presses. They look delicious this way, too! :-D
