Simple DIY Farm Animal Puzzle

A great use for all those old Amazon boxes, am I right? Ha!

But seriously, this is a wonderful way to introduce little ones to the idea of puzzles without having to spend a ton. You can use any images that they would like.

Once the 2 piece puzzles are too easy for them, just cut them into additional pieces. I wouldn’t do more than 4 though, since these are relatively small.

What’s Magnetic? Learning Activity

14 Indoor Learning Activities for Toddlers - Crafts and Games (7)
If your kid is anything like mine they are fascinated by magnets! I blame all the Thomas the Train sets 😉

A really fun way to play in a hurry, you can just grab a bunch of random stuff and stick it in a box… then hand over a large wand magnet.

Just make sure that all items are age appropriate – nothing swallow size for the little ones! The magnet wand helps to make sure no magnets can be swallowed.

Grab the magnet wands here (a set of 6 brightly colored wands)!

I LOVE this learning activity for toddlers! It really helps to increase their observation skills and it’s a really low key game to put together.

Just grab a solid color cup and a few random items! Make sure they know and can say what each item is so that they game is fun instead of frustrating.

Letter Hunt Sand Activity

You may not like the idea of a box of sand in your kitchen, so for you this might be an outdoor activity. However, we just do a quick sweep afterwards and enjoy this activity inside!

Dig through the sand to find letter shapes and match them to the paper once they are found.

Shape Matching Game

14 Indoor Learning Activities for Toddlers - Crafts and Games (14)
While they use the traditional “shapes” in this tutorial (circles, stars, and so on…) you could trace any object and let the kids figure out which item matches which space.

Examples would be a key, a spoon, a toy car, and so on!
